Cambridge Viscosity SPL324

The Little Dipper 1000 is great for dipping in most any fluid and it is portable. It comes with a readout for viscosity and temperature, 4-20mA output and a single measuring range.

Operating Principle

The Model SPL324 is an immersion viscometer with an 18 x 1/2 inch stem. At the end of the probe is a viscosity viscometer that is 1.2 inches in diameter. The viscometer may be inserted into stirred reaction vessels, small tanks or open containers.

Magnetic force on the piston is resisted by viscous flow of fluid around the piston; the more viscous the fluid, the slower the piston motion. Fluid is deflected into the measurement chamber by piston motion. Constant in and out motion of the piston keeps samples fresh, mechanically scrubs the sampling area and provides excellent viscosity tracking.

Measurements can be made in any different 20:1 viscosity ranges within the overall span of 0.2 to 20,000 cP. The fluid temperature is closely tracked by an internal platinum (RTD).
