SlabLog is a software for quantitative evaluation of
structures of slab core images. Due to slabs which are two-dimensional it is
impossible to orient the data of slab cores.
Single core images are combines and stored
as one image.
The combined core images can be correlated
according to depth.
Structures can be picked up in the combined
core image (unoriented structures).
Images and appropriated picked up
structures are filed in a file *.SLD. On the same additional data
are filed in .SL1. (in CoreLog: *.PRJ, *.CO1).
The following parameters can be
determined for single core sections on the basis of picked up structures:
Mean distance of structures per core section
in meter.
Mean length of structures per core section in
meter.
Mean opening of structures per core section in
meter.
Mean surface of structures per cubic meter of
rock masses (m2/m3) per single core sections.
Mean volume of openings of structures per
cubic meter of rock masses (m2/m3) per single core sections.
This value might be approximately compared with the void ratio.
Please note that SlabLog deals with two-dimensional core images. The
determined parameters are not referring to any direction!
