DMT CoreScan II DigiCore Software The DigiCore software system has been created for digital acquisition and storage of drilling cores. This software is necessary for grabbing core images from the CoreScan II. In DigiCore you have also the possibility to apply first corrections to the cores before storage, i.e., rotating the cores according to a general orientation. The digital reflectance data of the spectrophotometer reading is routinely obtained from the surface of the cores to provide a continuous record of the color variation from each core (visible light range 400-700 nm). Full circumference cores are scanned at a rate of ~1 min/m in the unrolled mode (~1 min/m for slabbed cores) and can be stored in BMP, TIF or JPG files. Take a look at the main window after grabbing a core:
The upper part of the main window shows a full image of the scanned core, in the lower portion the same core is zoomed in. If you prefer to save the cores with a homogeneous orientation you only need one right mouse click to a reference line on the core and put in the desired value for the orientation.
