DMT CoreScan II Core Image Analysis (CIA) Software CIA is a new software system which performs digital images from DMT CoreScan II. CIA helps you to evaluate and quantify properties of scanned cores and thin sections. Beside the classical shape parameter like area, perimeter and a CIA can also compute anisotropic image properties. Program Properties CIA can measure objects visible in the scanned images. Objects in the image are recognized either automatically through their color or gray value or can be manually marked with the mouse. CIA displays the results of the measurement in tables and graphs and allows exportation of the data into other programs like spreadsheet or word processing software. Input

Hardware Requirements Image processing needs a lot of memory and computer power. Your computer should be a recent model, well equipped and IBM compatible with Pentium CPU. Some image filters use MMX functions of the Pentium processor, but also work (more slowly) on a CPU not capable of MMX. Although CIA generally runs with any graphics card supported by Windows your graphics should be flicker-free in high-resolution true color or high color. CIA imports images from DMT CoreScan II or any other video camera. Moreover CIA supports all scanners with Twain interface directly. Of course, images can also be transferred to CIA as files or via clipboard.
